The same aspiration to divine serenity suffuses all three of these admirable cantatas. In this respect the cantata Ich habe genung,written in February 1727 to words inspired by the Gospel of St Luke, ian extraordinary poetic vision of death – not terrifying, but deeplyconsoling.

This title was released for the first time in 1988.
