Description
CD Les Grandes Orgues De La Cathedrale De Monaco Olivier Vernet
Blessed by Monsignor Barsi and inaugurated in December, 2011, Monaco Cathedral’s new organ is an outstanding instrument, designed and made by the Thomas organ manufacturing company of Ster-Francorchamps in Belgium. Olivier Vernet is its titular organist.
This inaugural double CD provides us with a recording in digital high definition stereo and multi-channel 5.1 (downloadable) in which we can hear a varied repertoire, carefully chosen by Olivier Vernet for the following reasons:
1. So that a great variety of registrations can be heard, both as a whole and in detail;
2. To present the organ with all of its attractions;
3. To highlight the diversity of aesthetic qualities which the organ can cover;
4. To showcase the works which Olivier has not yet recorded, particularly the pieces by the Canadian composer, Denis Bédard, written for the organ’s inauguration and dedicated to Olivier Vernet.
This double CD is now the reference recording for anyone who wishes to become acquainted with this outstanding instrument!
