CD J'veux qu'on m'aime Romain Dudek
Ironic and provocative " J'veux qu'on m'aime" is a mix between a humorous and critical introspection and an observation of our society with both childish cruelty and great tenderness.
From the opening track " Mes absences " Romain Dudek clearly delights in surprising his audience with an unexpected change of style.
Opening with a soft, deep voice and a restrained guitar riff it suddendly switches to a delirious and wild rock song... all in only one minute and twenty five seconds!
This album delivers many other surprises during the 12 songs alternating between rock and electro-pop."
Romain Dudek certainly excels at writing songs.
The lyrics are sharp, irrepressible, often written in the first person and whilst questionning himself he really questions his listeners.
He mocks self-centered singer/songwriters with style and modesty, sometimes revealing the intimate side of our humanity ("C'est de l'intime", "Charbon"), sometimes its absurd side ("Cannibale", "On peut pas tout faire").
Far from conforming to the typical singer/songwriter genre, Romain Dudek and Philippe Istria instead explore it, much like the Rita Mitsouko (of which they deliver a cover of "C'est comme ca" with boundless energy): bordering on electronica, sometimes pop or even funk (Miro features on 2 tracks) they also bring their own influences of rock and folk culture from the 70's, with ease creating their own unique sound which benefits from the varied range of Romain's amazing voice.
