Description
CD Les Pommes De Ma Douche / ...émules de Django Les Pommes De Ma Douche
Emulators of Django – that we've known since their very first album Y va tomber des cordes ! under the patronage of Tchavolo Schmitt, that most invincible of Manouche guitarists.
Followers of Brassens? We suspected this was so and we hoped so too. On the passionate and generous musical itinerary of Les Pommes, Uncle Georges seemed like the real missing link in the adventure. We had to arm ourselves with patience, his turn would come, no doubt about that. Finally, the choice of repertoire was dictated by Brassens himself, when he said, "I really like Django. He's probably the only one I can listen to for hours on end. And anyway, I like everything about him." And so from light springs new light, and each time a Brassens song referred explicitly to a song or an arrangement by Django, the choice of this title was an obvious necessity.
So Les Pommes de ma Douche gradually made some of the comparisons suggested (consciously or unconsciously) by Brassens himself. So there we are, that says everything – now on with the music! And if you fancy wandering a little further into Brassens' universe, do as the guest stars do here and launch into a luxury karaoke by singing Georges' words yourself to the accompaniment of the five expert musicians who constitute Les Pommes de ma Douche.
