Celebrated internationally for her rich timbre and amazing vocal agility, Joyce DiDonato is 'the' mezzo-soprano of the moment, also noted for her fine acting skills and impressive stage presence.



Eloquentia now presents a new recital by Joyce DiDonato entitled 'Pasión' - a tribute to the twentieth-century Spanish repertoire and to some of her favourite composers.



'Pasión' takes us back to some of the American singer's first loves, pieces that played an essential part in her passion for singing. Furthermore, her discovery of th songs of the composer Obradors, 'so simple and so beautiful', those of Falla, Montsalvatge, Turina and Granados, was a determining factor in her choice of an operatic career.



With 'Pasión', Joyce DiDonato and the pianist Julius Drake bring out all the energy, vibrancy and emotion of these Spanish songs, as well as the traditional spirit that runs through them. We are reminded of flamenco dancers, interacting perfectly and burning with the same passion! 'Pasión' is an arresting, moving and joyous recital by Joyce DiDonato.
