Cherif Mbaw recorded his third album at the Studio Decibels with sound engineer Jean- Marie Migeot.
On this album entitled "Sing for me", he has created a new musical world.
His encounter with Tracy Chapman introduced him both to a timeless rock and spiritual pop.
This experience has been used to great effect in his new songs. Under the leadership of the producer and arranger, Francis Campello, and Francis's musicians, Cherif has explored the unusual and unexpected sounds of the Weissenborn and the pedal steel guitar, so dear to Ben Harper and Ry Cooder, as well as Fender Rhodes and Hammond b3 keyboards.

The outcome is Senegalese Pop-rock. Music that is both highly elaborate and radically minimalist. "Sing For Me" has the strength of the African groove and clear tones of funk.
