CD Trumpet In Blue Guy Touvron
Gershwin and Bernstein are two of the leading 'trendy' figures of Twentieth Century American music. Guy Touvron, who already has more than 80 recordings to his credit, ranging from baroque to contemporary music and jazz, wanted to bring a new but reverent, popular and original perspective to these oft-covered works of Rhapsody in Blue and West Side Story.
For this purpose he has chosen to have original arrangements of these two standards composed, as well as several medleys for trumpet (or bugle) and piano; and, in addition, accordion, violin and double bass either playing in alternation or together.
So, here we have a personal and very "French" version of these fine works
