Pedro Carneiro, a young Portuguese percussionist who is a graduate of the Guildhall School in London and a scholarship holder of the Gulbenkian Foundation, invites us to meet the music of Xenakis through the eyes of a 29-year-old who never knew the composer, and has absorbed it as he would Schumann or Bach...

Interviews with Makhi Xenakis (the composer's daughter) and the musicologist Makis Solomos round off this auditory and visual 'encounter'.

Pedro Carneiro was one of the thirty personalities chosen by the President of Portugal in 2004 to represent the renewal of his country thirty years after the Revolution of 1974. He appears as a guest in the foremost international venues, among them the BBC Proms, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Chicago Grand Park Festival, Berlin Philharmonic, and Folles Journées...
