Five vinyl albums remastered from the analogue masters.
Alfred Deller passed away forty years ago. In the years up to 1979, he had recorded his most memorable albums for harmonia mundi, including Purcell’s ‘O Solitude’, ‘Music for a While’ and a famous King Arthur. Forty years later, we still listen to our good old LPs… and we realise just how little justice the previous digital transfers (produced in the early days of CD) did to the original recordings. We went back to our archives, retrieved the analogue masters and decided to produce a new mastering. The result is just… incredible. Five of the most legendary Deller recordings were entrusted to Alexandra Evrard, a talented sound engineer who devoted months and months to cleaning them up and finding the perfect sound quality, combining proximity, transparency, warmth and that natural sound which happened to be one of the chief characteristics of the famous countertenor. All the tapes have been scrupulously checked and carefully listened to by the label, with meticulous attention right down to the tiniest details in order to offer today’s music lover a fantastic new experience.
