ALFRED DELLER IS BACK!
Alfred Deller passed away 40 years ago. In 1979, he had realized for harmonia mundi his most memorable albums, such as Purcell’s « O Solitude », « Music for a While » and a famous « King Arthur »…
Fourty years later, we still listen our good old LPs… and realize at which point the previous digital transfers (produced at the beginning of the CD) didn’t really do justice to the original recordings. We returned to our archives, recovered the anagogic masters and decided to produce a new mastering. The result is just… incredible.
Five of the most legendary Deller recordings have been entrusted to Alexandra Evrard, a talented sound engineer who devoted months and months in order to clean, find the perfect sound including proximity, transparence, warmness and this natural sound which happened to be one of the very characteristics of the famous countertenor.
All the tapes have been scrupulously checked, carefully listened by the label, the very last details have been controlled in order to propose to the music lover of our time a fantastic new experience.
